Europe on Budget Airlines or Eurail? Which is cheaper?
Question: Is it cheaper to travel through Europe by budget airlines like Ryanair or Easyjet than by rail?
Short answer: it depends. For budget airlines, you should consider the cost of checking in your baggage and travelling from out of the way airports on top of the air ticket price. If you are travelling by rail, high-speed trains like the TGV, Thalys, Eurostar, and night trains (with sleeping compartments) may require an additional supplement on top of the pass price.
