The Tube or Underground is London’s underground railway system. It runs from about 5am to midnight from Monday-Saturday and about 7am to 11pm on Sunday. The Docklands Light Railway or DLR is a light rail system serving the redeveloped Docklands area of East London, England. Tramlink is a tramway system serving the south London area.
You can use paper tickets, Travelcards or Oyster cards to pay for your journey on the London transport network.
Travelcard
A Travelcard is a type of paper ticket that can be used on Tube, DLR, London Overground, buses, Tramlink and National Rail (except for the Heathrow Express) within Greater London. Travelcards are available in one-day and three-day versions. Information on Travelcard.
Oyster Card
The Oyster card is a contactless smartcard, used to pay for journeys on the bus, Tube, DLR, tram, London Overground and participating National Rail services. There are two types of Oyster cards — pay-as-you-go (top up when the value runs low) and 7-day Oyster card .
