Stonehenge, Wiltshire, England
Located in the county of Wilshire, near Amesbury and Salisbury, England, the megalithic ruin known as the Stonehenge is one of the world’s great mysteries. Who built it? And for what purpose? How? There are many colourful theories about this prehistoric monument said to be built between 2000-3000 BC. A sign from aliens? Built by supernatural forces? Maybe it’s an ancient joke? Like “Try deciphering this one, archaeologists of the future!”
If you are not driving, the easiest way to get there is probably by a tour bus. The nearest train station apparently is nearly 10 miles away, in Salisbury (about an hour and a half away from London). You’ll need to get a cab or take a local bus from there.
